Job Description

In the Rua Lab we are looking for a geologist join our team. We are developing a virtual reality experience that will allow users to explore planets and moons as if they were standing there. Our team, consisting of researchers, postdocs, and students, have developed the technology for the experience. We are now looking for a geologist to help refine the experience and provide their expertise. The position will involve trave to Mojave Desert to compare the virtual reality environments with the real-world environments that were used as their models. We are happy to be expanding our team and look forward to welcoming someone new!

Required Qualifications

PhD in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a similar field by the start date of the position.
Experience with geological field work
Willing to camp in the Mojave Desert for up to 1 week at a time
Willing to travel from Austin to California for up to 1 month at a time

Desired Qualifications

Experience in planetary sciences
Experience developing virtual reality technology
